DeaFestival Announcement

We are happy to announce that we are anticipating DeaFestival to happen in the Spring of 2027! Be sure to check our website or social media for more details in the coming months!

Video Transcript

Hello everyone!

We know many of you have been waiting for this update, and we appreciate your patience. There were several things we needed to figure out before we could make a final decision.

As you know, we were unable to produce DeaFestival in 2024 after the sudden passing of our Executive Director, Virginia Moore. Since then, we've been working to get things in order and plan for the next DeaFestival.

What you may not know is that DeaFestival has always been funded by a separate nonprofit organization. That organization has been struggling with ongoing organizational and administrative issues that means the funds needed for the festival aren't available right now.

Because DeaFestival takes many months of planning, including coordinating artists/performers, finding sponsors, planning accessibility, and building community partnership, we've reached a point where producing DeaFestival in 2026 is not possible. This decision was not made lightly.

We understand how much DeaFestival means to everyone. It is more than an event — it's a celebration of culture, creativity, language, and community. We share your disappointment.

We've been told that the nonprofit expects all issues to be resolved sometime this summer. This means we are beginning early planning for DeaFestival 2027! We hope for Spring 2027 and we are EXCITED about new ideas and changes!

We will keep you updated as we move forward. Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

It's One of the Best Hearing Aid Features. Many Still Aren't Using It.

A telecoil improves access for people with hearing loss in taxi cabs, performing arts centers, and more. Even with newer Bluetooth technology on the way, it's still worth getting.
